Tom Holland’s Spider-Man brought Spider-Man to the proper MCU and gave us a Peter and Spidey that felt true to the original character.

Before Tom Holland though, there was Tobey Maguire’s Spider-man; considered the gold standard (prior to some poor choice dance moves).  Sam Raimi gave us a Spider-Man that faced off against the like of Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman and Venom.  After Spider-Man 3 failed to reach expectations, Maguire and Raimi left the franchise before a fourth film was made, despite the rumors of the plans for one.

Despite the success of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, along with the 2 Amazing Spider-Man films starring Andrew Garfield, there are those that still pine away for that elusive fourth Raimi/Maguire film.  That void is where the group High Mountain Studios, in Seattle Washington come in.  They launched a Kickstarter campaign in hopes of raising the funds needed to make the 4th Raimi Universe film, by piecing together the original plans, which included the Vulture, Black Cat, the Kingpin, and finally the reveal of the long teased Lizard.

“If you’re reading this, more than likely you’re a fan of Sam Raimi’s Spider-ManTrilogy, and you were probably disappointed when years ago Spider-Man 4 was cancelled, over the last few years a lot of information has come out about what the film was going to be and so we’ve gathered a large and talented team of creative people in the Pacific Northwest to fit together this jigsaw puzzle as best we can, put our own spin on it, and make a feature length fan film of Spider-Man 4!! Will it be as amazing as the giant Hollywood budget motion picture event that the original Spider-Man 4 should have been? Nope, it’d be ridiculous of us to think we could do that, but we’re going to do everything we can to make it as great as possible!”

Their original goal was $10,000, which as of this writing, they’ve surpassed, with already raising $12,000, with 27 more days to go!!

You can check out some of their animations, concept art, and the full cast and the crew over on their Kickstarter page, and now that they’ve met their goal, the anticipation can begin to set it!
