A little over a moth ago The Sandlot co-writer and director David Mickey Evans revealed on a podcast that he was developing a series sequel to the original film that would bring back all the original cast members. At the time, he was vague and said that the series had a home on a streaming service, but couldn’t say which one. Well, now we know; its Disney+!
Its been reported that the story would take place in 1984 (calling Wonder Woman and American Horror Story!) and all of the characters will be adults with kids of their own. The sequel series is interesting, as the original film closed out, lettings us all know what happened to these characters once they reached adulthood.
The original cast for the series included Mike Vitar (Benjamin “Benny” Franklin Rodriguez), Patrick Renna (Hamilton “Ham” Porter), Chauncey Leopardi (Michael “Squints” Palledorous), Victor DiMattia (Timmy Timmons), Marty York (Alan “Yeah-Yeah” McClennan), Shane Obedzinski (Tommy “Repeat” Timmons), Grant Gelt (Bertram Grover Weeks), and Brandon Quintin Adams (Kenny DeNunez).
